Details: This nonprofit group supporting writers on the Big Island will meet weekly through June and July. Drop in with your ideas or pieces on which you are currently working. Group topics vary according to pieces being discussed.

Details: Award-winning Hawaii artist Ken Charon conducts weekly drawing lessons for kids after school. Sketching and drawing will be done on site at downtown Hilo locations, weather permitting, and in the studio at the Armory. Cost is $5 per session. Supplies needed: one HB and one 4B drawing pencil, a white eraser, a sharpener in a pencil case and a 9-by-12-inch drawing pad.
